The Needle Tube was originally devised in the early 2000s to create super slim tube flies for the sea trout on the River Earn in Scotland. Since then it has proved extremely effective, not only for sea trout on a wide range of UK and European rivers, but for other species such as Atlantic salmon in Europe and Canada, the various species of Pacific salmon in the U.S. and Canada and the steelhead of the Great Lakes and Pacific North West.

Below are just a few notable catches recorded over recent years, all caught on flies dressed in a variety of styles on Gray’s Needle Tubes of varying lengths.
